Arrival in Mauterndorf in Salzburg’s Lungau

The apartment house Mauterndorf is located in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Salzburger Lungau in the town of Mauterndorf in a fantastic location directly below Mauterndorf Castle in the historic center.

• By car the easiest way to reach Mauterndorf is via the A10 'Tauernautobahn', exit St. Michael. Or coming from the south/east on the B95 via Murau and Tasweg.
• By plane the nearest airports are Salzburg Airport (1.5 hours), Klagenfurt Airport (1.5 hours) and Vienna Airport (3 hours). To continue your journey to Mauterndorf, use public transport or a taxi company.
• By bus & train the easiest way to plan your route is via the ÖBB. The best way to reach Salzburg's Lungau from the north (from Salzburg) is by post bus. If you are traveling by train from the south, change at “Unzmarkt” station. You can reach Tamsweg with the “Murtalbahn”. From there you take the post bus to Mauterndorf.
